Spunky Monkeys FAQ’s.
My child is a fussy eater how do you cater for fussy eaters

We have cooks onsite at each of our services who provide fresh meals every day. This allows our educators to communicate with them about any children who are not eating the lunch provided. We provide plain options of pasta or rice, along with sandwiches if needed.

What communication for parents do you offer

All our main communication is completed via the OWNA app. This app allows parents to log in real time and see what the children have eaten throughout the day, nappy changes, toileting, and photos from the day. The parents are able to post back to the educators and educators are able to post individual posts also. We link children’s goals via the app.

Do you offer a school readiness program

School readiness can look so different for each child and service. At every Spunky Monkeys, we pride ourselves on providing a school readiness program every day via our program which can be viewed via OWNA. Through every programmed experience, there is a form of school readiness in our Gorilla rooms such as colour matching in the small construction, name writing in the craft area or exposure to a range of literature throughout the room.

How do you support children who are toilet training

At Spunky Monkeys we work with our families, and this is especially important through times of change such as toilet training. We encourage families to continue the practice they have adapted at home straight into the Early Childhood setting. Some examples of this might be using pull ups, only using undies, or using a mixture throughout the day. All our educators have had extensive experience with toilet training, and they are here to support the children in our care in this journey.

What are our fees and what do they include?

Our daily fee differs ever so slightly from service to service. What is included is up to 5 meals a day, depending on the amount of time your child is in attendance, all inclusive program, nappies for all children under the age of two and wipes for children who are currently in nappies.

Are you open during school holidays (including Christmas break)

We are open 52 weeks a year only closed for Public Holidays and Weekends

What do we need to pack when their child starts at the service?

The basics to pack each day are

  • 2 changes of clothes (labelled)
  • Water bottle (labelled)
  • Set of sheets for rest time (labelled), we recommend a set of cot sheets as these fit perfectly on the beds we provide
  • 6 nappies if your child is over 2 and still requires nappy changes
  • Bottles for our younger children (each service can explain their procedure during orientation)
